How To Configure OSPF On 2 Routers

In This Tutorial We Are Going To Learn How To Configure OSPF In Cisco Packet Tracer. This is a ospf configuration lab which we will learn to configure using cisco packet tracer.

STEP 1:First Off All Take 2 Router And 2 Pc’s And Draw This Type Of scenario.

What OSPF stands for?

Open Shortest Path First

In OSPF We Send Packet From 1 Pc To Another From Where will be the short route It Can Send Packet From There

STEP2:Now Firstly Assign The ip To The Routers

Configuration On Router 1
R1

Router>Enable
Router#
Router#config t
Router(config)#Hostname R1
R1(config)#int f0/0
R1(config-if)#ip add 1.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
R1(config-if)#no shut
R1(config-if)#exit
R1(config)#int f0/1
R1(config-if)#ip add 2.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
R1(config-if)#no shut
R1(config-if)#exit
R1(config)#exit
R1#

Configuration On Router 2
R2

Router>Enable
Router#
Router#config t
Router(config)#Hostname R1
R2(config)#int f0/0
R2(config-if)#ip add 2.0.0.2 255.0.0.0
R2(config-if)#no shut
R2(config-if)#exit
R2(config)#int f0/1
R2(config-if)#ip add 3.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
R2(config-if)#no shut
R2(config-if)#exit
R2(config)#exit
R2#

Now Ip Has Been Assigned Now We Do Routing On Both The Router

OSPF Routing On Router 1
R1

R1#
R1#config t
R1(config)#router ospf 1
R1(config-router)#
R1(config-router)# network 1.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 area 0
R1(config-router)# network 2.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 area 0
R1(config-router)#exit
R1(config)#exit
R1#

OSPF Routing On Router 2
R2

R2#
R2#config t
R2(config)#router ospf 1
R2(config-router)#
R2(config-router)# network 2.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 area 0
R2(config-router)# network 3.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 area 0
R2(config-router)#exit
R2(config)#exit
R2#
