How To Configure Telnet On Cisco Switch Using IP Version 6

In this tutorial we are going to learn how to configure telnet on switch by using ip version 6. As we know how to configure telnet on switch by using IPV4 now in this tutorial i am going to show you with practically how to configure telnet on cisco switch by using IPV6

Step-1 Now first assign the ip address to both the pc’s

ip Address of pc 0

2001::2/64

Ip Address of pc 1

2001::3/64

Step-2 After assining the ip addresses to the pc’s now we have to assign the ip address to the switch and then we configure telnet

Here is the command to assining the ip address to the switch and how to configure telnet on switch

Switch>en

Switch#config t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

Switch(config)#ipv6 unicast-rout

Switch(config)#int vlan1

Switch(config-if)#ipv6 add 2001::1/64

Switch(config-if)#no shut

Switch(config-if)#

%LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Vlan1, changed state to up

%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Vlan1, changed state to up

Switch(config-if)#exit

Switch(config)#line vty 0 4

Switch(config-line)#password ccna123.

Switch(config-line)#login

Switch(config-line)#

Switch#

Step-3 Now our all configuration is complete now we have to check that out configuration is correct or not

Now click on the command prompt of pc and check that our configuration is correct or not

Switch>telnet 2001::1

Trying 2001::1 …Open

User Access Verification

Password: ccna123.

Switch>
